July 2010 - Message from the UK Chapter President
Dear Members,
It was great to see so many of you at our 8th July event on the HMS President on the River Thames. 160 attendees and 16 speakers at the event made it the biggest and most ambitious event in the chapter’s history to date. We are very grateful for all the speakers and all those who took part in the round table sessions to make the event such a success.
Qualys took the award for the best anti-malware product and the ever popular Ken Munro from
Pen Test Partners was voted best presenter by attendees.
Photos from the event are now posted at http://www.issa-uk.org/issa8jul.html and all
presentations are available from ISSA Connect.
Regional workshop meetings at PWC Offices in Manchester on 15th July, Bristol on 16th July and Glasgow on 7th September will continue the discussion around the Implication of Social Networking on Corporate Information Security.
We have just been notified by ISSA International that once again the UK Chapter has received
the Communications Program of the Year award for the second year running. With over 146
chapters worldwide we are delighted that our work has been recognised and congratulations to
all of the ISSA-UK Communication Team for this achievement.
Finally, on behalf of the ISSA-UK Management Team I wish you all happy summer holidays!
With best wishes,
Geoff Harris
ISSA-UK President
